Cookie notice
Last updated: October 5, 2026
Vicinto keeps you signed in and remembers your filters. It has no advertising cookies and nothing that follows you to other sites.
This Cookie Notice explains how Dean Chohan, an individual doing business as Vicinto ("Vicinto", "we", "us" or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies in connection with the vicinto.com and app.vicinto.com websites and any other website that we own or control and which posts or links to this Cookie Notice (collectively, the "Sites"); and our mobile app (App).
What are cookies?
Cookies are small data files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Cookies serve different purposes, like helping us understand how a site is being used, letting you navigate between pages efficiently, remembering your preferences, and generally improving your browsing experience.
Our Sites may use both session cookies (which expire once you close your web browser) and persistent cookies (which stay on your computer or mobile device until you delete them).
We use two broad categories of cookies: (1) first party cookies, served directly by us to your computer or mobile device, which we use to recognize your computer or mobile device when it revisits our Sites; and (2) third-party cookies, which are served by service providers or business partners on our Sites, and can be used by these parties to recognize your computer or mobile device when it visits other websites. Third-party cookies can be used for a variety of purposes, including site analytics, advertising, and social media features.
Vicinto's own code does not set cookie files. It uses browser web storage, described below, for the same jobs. The cookies on our Sites are set by the service providers named in the table, each one only when you use the feature it provides.
What types of cookies and similar tracking technologies do we use on the Sites and App?
On the Sites, we use cookies and other tracking technologies in the following categories described in the table below.
| Type | Description | Who serves the cookies (link to privacy policy/site) | How to control them |
|---|---|---|---|
| Analytics | These cookies help us understand how our services are performing and being used. | Vercel, through Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views on vicinto.com and app.vicinto.com. It sets no cookie and stores nothing in your browser. vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy | There is nothing stored to clear. A content blocker in your browser stops it. |
| Essential | These cookies are necessary to allow the technical operation of our services (e.g., they enable you to move around on a website and to use its features). | Vicinto: browser web storage that holds your sign-in session on app.vicinto.com, kept through our sign-in provider Supabase (supabase.com/privacy), and that remembers for the visit that the age check passed. Stripe: cookies it sets when a payment form opens, used to prevent fraud (stripe.com/privacy). Cloudflare: Turnstile, the check on the sign-in screen that tells a person from a script, which may use cookies or storage inside its own frame (cloudflare.com/privacypolicy). Google: its own sign-in pages, only if you choose Continue with Google (policies.google.com/privacy). | These cannot be switched off without breaking sign-in or payment. See Your choices below: clearing the site's data in your browser signs you out. |
| Functionality / performance | Enhance the performance and functionality of our services. | Vicinto: browser web storage on app.vicinto.com that remembers your city and your sport filters, that you have seen the intro, your answer to the cookie banner, a one-time position for the nearby list when you allow it (for that visit only), and a copy of courts, games and passes you opened recently so pages load fast. On vicinto.com: a referral code from a partner link, so it carries into the app. | See Your choices below: clearing the site's data in your browser resets them. |
We do not use advertising cookies or social media cookies.
Other technologies
In addition to cookies, our Sites may use other technologies, such as browser web storage, to collect information automatically.
Browser Web Storage
We may use browser web storage (including via HTML5), also known as locally stored objects ("LSOs"), for similar purposes as cookies. Browser web storage enables the storage of a larger amount of data than cookies. Your web browser may provide functionality to clear your browser web storage.
Mobile Application Software Development Kits (SDKs)
We may use third-party software development kits ("SDKs") in our mobile applications. An SDK is third-party computer code that may be used for a variety of purposes, including providing us with analytics regarding the use of our mobile applications, to integrate with social media, add features or functionality to our app, or to facilitate online advertising. SDKs may enable third parties to collect information directly via our App.
Our iPhone app has no advertising SDK and no analytics SDK. The third-party code in it adds features, such as the map (MapLibre, which requests map tiles from OpenFreeMap). Sign in with Apple and push notifications use Apple's own services, and Sign in with Google opens Google's sign-in page. The app keeps your sign-in in the iOS Keychain and your filters in its own storage on the device.
Your choices
Your options for controlling what information cookies and similar technologies collect about you include:
- Cookie banner. The first time you visit app.vicinto.com, a banner asks you to accept or decline non-essential cookies. Your answer is saved in your browser's storage. Strictly necessary cookies and storage do not require your consent. We do not set any non-essential cookies today, so both answers give you the same thing: the essential and functionality storage described above. Vercel Web Analytics runs either way, because it sets no cookie and stores nothing on your device. To see the banner again, clear the site's data in your browser.
- Blocking cookies in your browser. Most browsers let you remove or reject cookies. To do this, follow the instructions in your browser settings. Many browsers accept cookies by default until you change your settings. Please note that if you set your browser to disable cookies, the Sites may not work properly. For more information about cookies, including how to see what cookies have been set on your device and how to manage and delete them, visit www.allaboutcookies.org. If you do not accept our cookies, you may experience some inconvenience in your use of our Sites. For example, we may not be able to recognize your computer or mobile device and you may need to log in every time you visit our Sites.
For more information about how we collect, use and share your information, see our Privacy Policy.
Changes
Information about the cookies we use may be updated from time to time, so please check back on a regular basis for any changes.
